We repainted the north side two years ago and it is already going black again. What went wrong?

Our place is up in Suncrest, not down by the water. Does any of that apply to us?

Mostly not, and that is the point — Suncrest is a different job. On the bluff you are exposed to open sky and wind with no tree cover, so the failure mode is UV: chalking, fading, and the south and west elevations wearing out well ahead of the north and east. Damp and mildew barely register up there. It usually means a higher-grade product on the exposed sides and, often, a sensible argument for not repainting all four elevations on the same cycle.
